British Quali : Supreme Mercedes

Mercedes cars are in a different league, being more than a second ahead of the rest.

Mercedes in a different league

Lewis snatched his 91st pole after a rare spin in Q2. Bottas was impressive in Q1 and Q2 but ended up being 0.3 seconds behind Hamilton. It will be difficult to beat the Mercedes car tomorrow. Expect them to be on the podium, without much hassle.

Both Max and Charles pushed their cars to the limit and locked the second row. McLaren punching above the weight, as they have been doing for 2020, came 5th and 7th.

Racing Point not up to the mark

After topping FP2 it was a bit disappointing to see Lance Stroll not making it to the second row at least. He ended up at P6. Hulkenburg looked in good touch but ended up as P13. He couldn’t quite match up to his teammate, which was a bit expected, but we wished otherwise.

Renault in good touch

Both Daniel and Esteban did well to make it to Q3 and ended up s 8th and 9th.

Sebastian Vettel looked a bit out of touch and he just managed to come 10th when his younger teammate is P4.

Similarly disappointing day for Albon. He finished P12 when his teammate finished third. Ironically Pierre Gasly made it to P11 in the Alpha Tauri. Albon had replaced Gasly mid-season last year.

George Russell once again showing his class managed to come in Q2.

Unsurprisingly, Ferrari powered HAAS and Alpha Romeo struggled to come out of Q1.
