Kimi wins the SPA GP as George Russell crashes out on the first lap. Charles LeClerc got P2 and Max got P3

Mighty Kimi in SPA

Kimi Antonelli had a string of bad results since his win in Monaco. Most of them were not his fault. He had the race pace and the momentum. While still leading the Championship the gap was closing down. Things finally got back to normal in SPA. Kimi got the pole position and while it was not a smooth sailing, he still crossed the chequered flag first. The gap to his nearest rival is now a comfortable 50 points but this a long season and we are still not at summer break point. Kimi drove like a Champion and deserved to win.

His team-mate and Championship Challenger George Russell did not have luck on his side. To be fair he was lacking in speed too and the team attributed it to some glitch in the battery. He was no even on the front row. However after a good start the battery was completely drained out. George found himself in a swamp of car and one small tick by Hamilton meant that he spun and found himself in the gravel and out of the race. It will be difficult, if not impossible, for him to catch up this season.

Charles masterclass in SPA

Charles LeClerc once again came out as the better of the two Ferraris. After Barcelona it felt that Lewis had got the upper hand. However in Silverstone and now in SPA Charles drove better. Lewis had damage after collision with George but he still managed to finish P4. Charles drove a very good race and at one point it felt that he may even win the race. However the Mercedes and Kimi pace was just too much for him to handle. He will still be happy and satisfied with the performance.

Max magic in SPA

Max is a guy who is not 100% in F1 anymore but still ekes out excellent performances. He got on the front row thanks to the mighty tow from Isack. The race pace was decent enough to challenge the Ferraris but not the Mercedes of Kimi. A lucky VSC meant that he could not race LeClerc. He would be happy with the result too. Isack too drove a mega race and ended up finishing P6.

Oscar Piastri finished P6 and Lando finished P7 with another good recovery drive. Gabby finished P8, Arvid P9 and Franco got the last point at P10.

SPA GP Top 10 : Kimi wins

Charles win in British GP

Charles had a strong quali session as he was P2. Starting from the front row he got a good start and was ahead of Kimi at the first turning point. Since then he kept the pace and was ahead throughout the race.

Kimi did not get a good start but he had the pace. In the second stint he was catching up to Charles nicely. However he got front-left damage as he went over the kerbs and lost the race pretty much. His lead is now only of 25 points after the British GP. Lewis Hamilton started from P3 and in the end finished there. He would have got P2 but a late safety car meant coming in the pits and he ended up losing a position. George Russell was unlucky and lucky at the same time. He lost positions due to a puncture but then the safety car helped him and he eventually finished P2 while his rival and team-mate Kimi Antonelli got zero points.

Max spun off the track as the rear wing failed to close. Isack Hadjar finished P5. Liam and Arvid finished P6 and P7, their best result this season. Gabby got 4 points for Audi. Colapinto and Gasly finished P9 and P10 respectively.

British GP Top 10 : Charles winner

George redemption in Austria

George Russell has had a tough few weekends in the past. He is the senior Mercedes driver and is expected to win the Championship, when given the right car. Now that the opportunity has finally come George’s way, after struggling in a beaten Williams and then in less than optimal Mercedes of the past, the lead has been snatched by his much younger team-mate Kimi. Race after race it was Kimi who got the lead, won the races and got the points. Some was down to luck, some just the lack of confidence from George. Still he backed himself up, got good points in Barcelona and won the race from Pole in Austria.

To be sure, he was not in the groove in the practice sessions. Max spun in the final important lap of Quali, which brought the yellow flags. Seeing this Kimi aborted the lap completely where George knowing the rules well just lifted a bit and then kept on going. He got the Pole and then never missed a beat to be the first to chequered flag. Kimi then was playing a catching up, after starting from P4. He struggled in the starting as he pushed too much. Eventually he ended up in P3. He still has a lead of 40 points over George but the season is long and there are still many races left. Kimi cannot take the Championship for granted.

Mighty Max in Austria

Austria is the home ground for Red Bull. All the bosses were there and so were Max’s fan army. After a setback in the quali Max started in P5. His race pace was solid and just executed things very well. Eventually he finished P2. While still far from being a Championship contender, Max has shown what a quality driver he is. Isack had a decent race and he finished P6.

Ferrari fumble in Austria

After the mega race in Barcelona everyone felt that Ferrari is back in the groove and we will see them more in the front, fighting Mercedes. The Quali was not bad with Charles in P2 and Hamilton in P3. However the three-stop strategy just did not work for Ferrari. While Hamilton got some good overtakes done, he eventually finished P5. Meanwhile LeClerc struggled even more, starting in the front row but ended up in P8.

McLaren had an average race with Oscar finishing P4 and Lando P7. Both the Racing Bulls finished in points, Lawson in P9 and Arvid P10.

Austria GP Top 10 : George redemption

Lewis wins his first race for Ferrari in Barcelona. Kimi unfortunately had to retire due to engine issues. George was P2, Lando P3.

1st win for Lewis for Ferrari in Barcelona

Lewis wins for 106th time and this is for Ferrari, in Barcelona. The move to Ferrari from Mercedes was always a controversial one. The first year did not go well. Many doubted whether the move was a right one or not. Some even questioned Lewis’ ability to win races given that age is not on his side. While the first year and the ground-effect rules in general were not helpful, Lewis looked more positive with the new regulations. He was in the groove. While Mercedes had the outright pace, Lewis was there was on the podium regularly. He came P2 in Monaco and P2 in Canada too. The top step was right around the corner.

Ferrari got a lot of upgrades and that seemed to have worked. Still Lewis started P2 and not P1. Mercedes seemed to have an upper hand. Lewis started on softs, hoping to get a jump. But he could not get the jump. However he had the pace and was able to keep up with the leader. Lewis decided to go for a 3 stop strategy and made it work. A lucky virtual safety car meant he got ahead in the race and there was just no looking back from it. Charles on the other hand had a race to forget with another retirement.

Mercedes ahead in Barcelona but not by much

Mercedes still has the better car, even with the Ferrari upgrades. George seems to have found his groove again and he put his car on P1. However in the race it was not that clear that he was the fastest. Lewis was catching with him in the first half and he simply raced away once he was in the lead in the final stint. Before Kimi had to retire due to engine issues, he had actually overtaken George and would have finished P2 comfortably. So George has made a step up but not by much. The Championship is very much in Kimi’s hand.

Kimi had a weekend to forget in Barcelona. He did not seem that strong in the car, started the race at P3, actually got ahead of George in the race but then had to retire due to engine issues. He is still ahead in the Championship but this is a long season and he cannot take things for granted.

Decent McLaren and RedBull in Barcelona

Lando got the final step of the podium as Kimi retired. McLaren has the pace but not enough to compete with the Mercedes and Ferrari. Oscar finished P5. Max showed hints of performance but he was nowhere to be seen in the race, finishing P4 and Isack P6.

Both the Alpines and the Racing Bulls ended up in points. It was a weekend to forget for Williams, Audi and HAAS. Cadillac and Aston Martin have a lot of work to do.

Barcelona GP top 10 : First Ferrari win for Lewis

Kimi had a spectacular weekend in Monaco as he finished on top. Lewis secured P2 whereas Isack got the P3 spot.

Kimi in control in Monaco

When the practice sessions started it was Ferrari which seemed to be on top of things. However by FP3 session it was Mercedes which had clawed back. Even then Kimi looked very much in the groove but George not so much. In the Quali it was Kimi who got the Pole position whereas George was left stranded behind.

The race was not an easy one. Kimi got a good start and was in the lead throughout. However there were safety cars, red flags and restarts. Kimi managed it all very well and came out as the youngest winner of Monaco GP. George Russell was left wondering again what had gone wrong. It was a mix of bad luck and a lack of confidence. Both feed into each other and you tend to spiral downwards. Things sometimes do not go well by sheer luck and then you start losing your confidence. George running low on confidence could not push as much as Kimi. He started from behind and then there were a few penalties for speeding in the pitlane and then not fulfilling the penalty requirements. Eventually he was out of the points whereas Kimi scored the maximum 25. As of now the gap between George and Kimi is a whooping 68 points. While the season is long it will be very difficult for George to cover up and fight for the Championship.

Ferrari points in Monaco

It was a race of contrast for the two Ferrari drivers. Lewis started in P3 and looked good. However he was never in a position to challenge the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli and so settled for P2. Charles looked good in P3 but a brake failure meant he ran into the barriers and that ended the race for home boy. Charles has just extended his Ferrari contract but is running low on confidence. Lewis meanwhile is feeling much better in this car as compared to last year. If he gets a good car then he can certainly fight for wins.

Red Bull issues in Monaco

Max Verstappen pulled off another stunning lap in Quali as he was just 0.048 seconds behind Pole sitter Kimi. It all turned into a disaster when he had engine issues at the race start and had to retire the car soon. He must be very much disappointed as there was so much promise. Isack Hadjar also had power issues throughout the race but he ended up finishing P3. So he will take the points and be very happy with it.

The race was all chaos. Oscar stayed away from disaster and finished P4. Lando had power issues and DNF. Both the Racing Bulls scored points in P5 and P6. Gasly crossed the chequered flag P3 but due to penalties ended up P7. Albon finished P8, Ocon P9 and Alonso got the final but the first points for Aston Martin in P10 as Perez got penalties.

Monaco GP Top 10 : Kimi wins

Kimi sets the world record in Canada for winning his first 4 race in a row as George’s car broke down. Hamilton came in second as Max got the third spot.

Mercedes strong but disappoint George

Kimi had won 3 races in a row and that obviously put a lot of pressure on George. He brushed it off saying that Miami anyway was not his strong hunting ground. Things were suppose to get better from Canada and for the European leg of the race. Kimi had struggled in Europe last year. George looked confident and he did perform well in the Sprint Quali and the Sprint race. Things got heated up in the Sprint race between George and Kimi but then Toto Wolff would have got things under control. In the Quali Kimi looked very confident but then lost by a narrow margin to George in the last run of Q3.

With the rain threatening, the race started in a dicey condition. Kimi got ahead of George but could not fly away as he would have expected. George got the lead again. There was a lot of back and forth between the two and things were getting spicy. However mid-way, George’s car just stopped on the track. This was a big jolt. His deficit was already increasing and now it is 43 points. Kimi is on a high and George is distraught. However this is a long season and like last year the senior team member still can catch up.

McLaren disaster in Canada

McLaren have got some good upgrades and they are looking solid. However they started the race on Inters when everyone else was on slicks. This costed them dearly and both their drivers had to come for pit-stop quickly and they fell down the grid. It will be a race to forget for the McLarens.

Upbeat Hamilton in Canada

Hamilton was looking quite upbeat in Canada. He was fast but could only secure P5 in the grid. He got a good start and after McLaren fumble and George DNF he was fighting with Max for the second spot on the podium. This confident Hamilton is seen after a long time. He would be looking forward to Monaco. On the other hand Charles was not in the groove at all. There was no pace and he just wanted the race to be over. He still finished a respectable P4.

Max pushing up in Canada

Max had a solid last weekend in Nürburgring, which he did not win but was super still. He was off the pace here and complaining all the time but still finished on the podium. Isack Hadjar had issues too and the pace was missing but still finished P5.

Franco Colapinto got the finish finish at P6 and Gasly P8. Liam Lawson got P7, Carlos P9 and Ollie P10.

Kimi scores a hat-trick in Miami and firms his grip on the Championship. Mclaren have done mighty well to recover as Lando finished P2 and Oscar P3.

Kimi hat-trick in Miami

Mercedes was ahead in the game of building a solid car and an engine in the new regulations. George Russell started the year well and was firmly in command of the season in the beginning. Things started to turn around from China. In his just second season in F1 Kimi is already a proven race winner. Kimi is just 19 years old and Toto Wolff put in a some good faith by putting Kimi directly in the top team. There were a lot of edges to be smoothened in the first season but the patience seem to be paying off now. Kimi is consistent and seem to have been better adapted to this new car. The race was not smooth though. Kimi had a bad start, again, and then he had to claw his way back to the top. He did a great job and has become the first ever driver to have got first three poles in a row as well as converted it into wins.

George Russell needs to seriously think about the situation and he cannot take things for granted. George treated Kimi as the younger brother and his protege of sorts. However Kimi has turned out to be more than a handful. He finished P4 but was out of touch throughout the weekend. He has some catching up to do.

McLaren come back in Miami

Speaking of come back, McLaren seems to have recovered some solid ground after a big break. They were almost in the mid-field when the season started. Now they are very much in the contention to fight Mercedes. Lando found his mojo back in Miami and was super in the Sprint. Even the main race he made his way to P2. Oscar did well in Japan but here seemed to be out of touch. He still managed to be on the podium at P3. Mercedes will be getting upgrades the next race and McLaren needs to be careful to lose the momentum.

Ferrari fumble in Miami

Ferrari as usual looked promising but then the results showed otherwise Charles LeClerc looked good. He started in P3, got ahead in the race but then slowly fell back to P3 as Kimi and Lando got ahead of him. Then towards the end even Oscar got ahead. Things went from bad to worse as Charles had a minor crash on the last lap and he had to get his broken car back to the finish line. From leading the race at the start he finished a lowly P8 in the end. Hamilton also did not have much to talk about. He finished P7.

Max comeback in Miami

Red Bull seemed to have made a good come back. The car is much more nicer to drive, especially in the hands of Max. He started from the front row but an early pit stop meant driving on the Hard tyre for a majority of the race. He slipped down and eventually finished in P5. Still a lot of positives for the team.

Franco Colapinto finished an impressive P7 while both the Williams driver scored points.

Miami GP Top 10 : Kimi wins

Kimi showing pace in Japan

We know that the Mercedes is fast and they have an upper hand in the starting of the season with all the new regulations. What has come as a surprise is how close is Kimi to his well established team-mate George Russell. His rookie season last year had his share of ups and downs as one would expect from an 18 year old directly hurled into a top team like Mercedes. That patience by Toto Wolff has paid off as the new season started. Kimi is on the pace right from get go. He was close to George in every practice session in all the race. He won the race in China to become the second youngest race winner, after Max Verstappen. That could have been attributed to a bit of luck.

However here in Japan he was better than George in all the practice session and got the Pole. George was struggling with issues and he was never close to Kimi. Then the start went bad as it has been the case with Mercedes in all the races. Kimi went down to P6. George also had a bad start but still maintained a decent position.

Then Bearman had a massive shunt which changed the fortunes for everyone. George had pitted just a lap before and Kimi got a free pitstop. He made the most of it and took the race win. Kimi is the youngest Championship leader in F1. While we had a long season ahead George cannot take things for granted anymore. Also McLaren, especially under the hands of Piastri showed solid pace and they can be a contender soon.

Piastri starts a race, finishes P2 in Japan

Oscar Piastri was unfortunate to not even start the first two races. Here he got a good start and well into the lead but then the Safety car and he had to settle for P2. Lando finished P5 and he seems to be content with the 2025 Championship and not showing the hunger anymore.

Ferrari P3 and P6 in Japan

Charles had a good race to finish P3. However Ferrari still doesn’t have the race pace to fight Mercedes. Now even McLaren seems to be coming strong and fighting with them. Hamilton looked good but eventually settled for P6. Ferrari had a good car and is solid at the start but they need to work hard to get more performance if they want to fight Mercedes for the title.

Pierre Gasly had a solid race as he kept Max Verstappen off and finished P7 while Max finished P8. Would would have thought this was possible even a few years back. Liam Lawson finished P9 and Esteban scored the final race point.

Mercedes seems to have the upper hand in the new regulations as George wins the opening race in Australia. Fellow driver Kimi Antonelli came second while Charles got the final podium spot.

George takes Merc to victory in Australia

Mercedes looked solid in all the practice sessions. While they missed the regulations from 2022-25, it doesn’t seem to be the case in this new era. They control the PU and also have a solid team which can build a Championship winning car. The Qualifying was astonishing as both the Merc had a healthy lead over Ferrari which seemed like a distant second.

George did not get the start he hoped for as Charles got a solid start. However Mercedes made the most of the Virtual Safety Car and got the pitstops at the right time. George had the pace and eventually overtook the two Ferraris. Kimi did a decent job too with being there with George all the time. Mercedes seem to have the upper hand currently but it needs to be seen if they can sustain it in the entire season.

Ferrari second best in Australia

Ferrari have a good package but they need to work on the performance. Charles LeClerc got a solid start but it was not enough to sustain it. He finished third and Hamilton was fourth. They have a good starting point but fighting Mercedes would not be easy. Ferrari have two solid drivers they just need to get everything together.

Arvid Lindblad scored points in his rookie F1 race. Audi scored points in their first F1 race.

Australia GP : Top 10 – George wins

Lando wins the Championship by securing P3 in Abu Dhabi. Max won the race but that was not enough. Same with Oscar who came P2.

Lando Champion in Abu Dhabi

Lando had a lead of 12 points over Max coming in to Abu Dhabi. That’s a good lead but not enough to secure the Championship by default. Max got the Pole and he looks in the prime of his life. He was cool and composed, as a 4 time World Champion, with nothing to lose. Lando started the race in P2. He had everything to lose. If Max won the race and Lando was not on the podium then the Championship was gone to Max. He had to play it safe as much as possible, without losing further ground to the racers behind him. The first turn would be crucial and Max is known to be a person who can push the limits to get what he wants.

In a way it was good for Lando that Max was on Pole and he was P2. Had it been reversed there is a big chance that Max would have dive bombed to get ahead. Lando would take evasive action to get out of the track. He won’t mind letting Max go ahead but in the process could lead to other drivers getting ahead too. As the race started the first turn went well and there was no chaos. Lando nicely tucked behind Max and let him go ahead. Oscar too behaved well. However he went ahead of Lando in a few laps, while behind on Hards. It is not sure whether this was intentional by the team or just Oscar trying to maximize his chances.

Cool Lando in Abu Dhabi

After that the race went on pretty much in an uneventful way. There was a threat of Charles driving quickly and threatening Lando in P3. However the threat subsided soon and Lando cruised to P3 and the Championship. It was a hard fought Championship for Lando. He started off well but then Oscar got in top form as the season went on. Then it in the second hard we saw the resurgent of Max. From being 104 points behind the leader, Max finished just two points behind. It was an incredible recovery for him. For Oscar things fell apart after Baku. The usually calm and composed Aussie started flustering and showing signs of Championship pressure. He got the form back in Qatar but by then it was too late. In all of this Lando was positive and cool, something we did not see last year as he was fighting Max. While all three were worthy contenders of the Title, it was a well deserved Championship for Lando Norris.

Abu Dhabi : Final 2025 Driver Points
