<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kimi sets the world record in Canada for winning his first 4 race in a row as George’s car broke down. Hamilton came in second as Max got the third spot. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/kimi-canada-gp-winner.jpg?resize=800%2C1000&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-1822" style="width:498px;height:auto" loading="lazy" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/kimi-canada-gp-winner.jpg?resize=819%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 819w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/kimi-canada-gp-winner.jpg?resize=240%2C300&amp;ssl=1 240w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/kimi-canada-gp-winner.jpg?resize=768%2C960&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/kimi-canada-gp-winner.jpg?w=960&amp;ssl=1 960w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mercedes strong but disappoint George</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kimi had won 3 races in a row and that obviously put a lot of pressure on George. He brushed it off saying that Miami anyway was not his strong hunting ground. Things were suppose to get better from Canada and for the European leg of the race. Kimi had struggled in Europe last year. George looked confident and he did perform well in the Sprint Quali and the Sprint race. Things got heated up in the Sprint race between George and Kimi but then Toto Wolff would have got things under control. In the Quali Kimi looked very confident but then lost by a narrow margin to George in the last run of Q3.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the rain threatening, the race started in a dicey condition. Kimi got ahead of George but could not fly away as he would have expected. George got the lead again. There was a lot of back and forth between the two and things were getting spicy. However mid-way, George’s car just stopped on the track. This was a big jolt. His deficit was already increasing and now it is 43 points. Kimi is on a high and George is distraught. However this is a long season and like last year the senior team member still can catch up. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">McLaren disaster in Canada</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">McLaren have got some good upgrades and they are looking solid. However they started the race on Inters when everyone else was on slicks. This costed them dearly and both their drivers had to come for pit-stop quickly and they fell down the grid. It will be a race to forget for the McLarens. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Upbeat Hamilton in Canada </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Hamilton was looking quite upbeat in Canada. He was fast but could only secure P5 in the grid. He got a good start and after McLaren fumble and George DNF he was fighting with Max for the second spot on the podium. This confident Hamilton is seen after a long time. He would be looking forward to Monaco. On the other hand Charles was not in the groove at all. There was no pace and he just wanted the race to be over. He still finished a respectable P4. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Max pushing up in Canada</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Max had a solid last weekend in Nürburgring, which he did not win but was super still. He was off the pace here and complaining all the time but still finished on the podium. Isack Hadjar had issues too and the pace was missing but still finished P5. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Franco Colapinto got the finish finish at P6 and Gasly P8. Liam Lawson got P7, Carlos P9 and Ollie P10. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kimi scores a hat-trick in Miami and firms his grip on the Championship. Mclaren have done mighty well to recover as Lando finished P2 and Oscar P3.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="450" src="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner.jpg?resize=800%2C450&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-1815" loading="lazy" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner-scaled.jpg?resize=1024%2C576&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner-scaled.jpg?resize=300%2C169&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner-scaled.jpg?resize=768%2C432&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner-scaled.jpg?resize=1536%2C864&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner-scaled.jpg?w=2048&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Kimi-miami-26-winner-scaled.jpg?w=1600&amp;ssl=1 1600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Kimi hat-trick in Miami </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mercedes was ahead in the game of building a solid car and an engine in the new regulations. George Russell started the year well and was firmly in command of the season in the beginning. Things started to turn around from China. In his just second season in F1 Kimi is already a proven race winner. Kimi is just 19 years old and Toto Wolff put in a some good faith by putting Kimi directly in the top team. There were a lot of edges to be smoothened in the first season but the patience seem to be paying off now. Kimi is consistent and seem to have been better adapted to this new car. The race was not smooth though. Kimi had a bad start, again, and then he had to claw his way back to the top. He did a great job and has become the first ever driver to have got first three poles in a row as well as converted it into wins. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">George Russell needs to seriously think about the situation and he cannot take things for granted. George treated Kimi as the younger brother and his protege of sorts. However Kimi has turned out to be more than a handful. He finished P4 but was out of touch throughout the weekend. He has some catching up to do. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">McLaren come back in Miami </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Speaking of come back, McLaren seems to have recovered some solid ground after a big break. They were almost in the mid-field when the season started. Now they are very much in the contention to fight Mercedes. Lando found his mojo back in Miami and was super in the Sprint. Even the main race he made his way to P2. Oscar did well in Japan but here seemed to be out of touch. He still managed to be on the podium at P3. Mercedes will be getting upgrades the next race and McLaren needs to be careful to lose the momentum. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ferrari fumble in Miami </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ferrari as usual looked promising but then the results showed otherwise Charles LeClerc looked good. He started in P3, got ahead in the race but then slowly fell back to P3 as Kimi and Lando got ahead of him. Then towards the end even Oscar got ahead. Things went from bad to worse as Charles had a minor crash on the last lap and he had to get his broken car back to the finish line. From leading the race at the start he finished a lowly P8 in the end. Hamilton also did not have much to talk about. He finished P7. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Max comeback in Miami </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Red Bull seemed to have made a good come back. The car is much more nicer to drive, especially in the hands of Max. He started from the front row but an early pit stop meant driving on the Hard tyre for a majority of the race. He slipped down and eventually finished in P5. Still a lot of positives for the team. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Franco Colapinto finished an impressive P7 while both the Williams driver scored points. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Miami GP Top 10 : Kimi wins </h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/miami-kimi-top-10-winner.jpg?resize=800%2C1000&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-1816" style="width:515px;height:auto" loading="lazy" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/miami-kimi-top-10-winner.jpg?resize=819%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 819w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/miami-kimi-top-10-winner.jpg?resize=240%2C300&amp;ssl=1 240w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/miami-kimi-top-10-winner.jpg?resize=768%2C960&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/miami-kimi-top-10-winner.jpg?w=1080&amp;ssl=1 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Kimi wins the race in Japan to become the youngest title leader. Oscar finally starting a race finished P2 while LeClerc held off George to finish P3.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/japan-gp-kimi-2026.jpg?resize=800%2C1000&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-1804" style="aspect-ratio:0.7997970180232271;width:568px;height:auto" loading="lazy" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/japan-gp-kimi-2026-scaled.jpg?resize=819%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 819w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/japan-gp-kimi-2026-scaled.jpg?resize=240%2C300&amp;ssl=1 240w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/japan-gp-kimi-2026-scaled.jpg?resize=768%2C960&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/japan-gp-kimi-2026-scaled.jpg?resize=1229%2C1536&amp;ssl=1 1229w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/japan-gp-kimi-2026-scaled.jpg?w=1638&amp;ssl=1 1638w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Kimi showing pace in Japan </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We know that the Mercedes is fast and they have an upper hand in the starting of the season with all the new regulations. What has come as a surprise is how close is Kimi to his well established team-mate George Russell. His rookie season last year had his share of ups and downs as one would expect from an 18 year old directly hurled into a top team like Mercedes. That patience by Toto Wolff has paid off as the new season started. Kimi is on the pace right from get go. He was close to George in every practice session in all the race. He won the race in China to become the second youngest race winner, after Max Verstappen. That could have been attributed to a bit of luck. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">However here in Japan he was better than George in all the practice session and got the Pole. George was struggling with issues and he was never close to Kimi. Then the start went bad as it has been the case with Mercedes in all the races. Kimi went down to P6. George also had a bad start but still maintained a decent position. <br><br>Then Bearman had a massive shunt which changed the fortunes for everyone. George had pitted just a lap before and Kimi got a free pitstop. He made the most of it and took the race win. Kimi is the youngest Championship leader in F1. While we had a long season ahead George cannot take things for granted anymore. Also McLaren, especially under the hands of Piastri showed solid pace and they can be a contender soon. <br><br><br>Piastri starts a race, finishes P2 in Japan </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Oscar Piastri was unfortunate to not even start the first two races. Here he got a good start and well into the lead but then the Safety car and he had to settle for P2. Lando finished P5 and he seems to be content with the 2025 Championship and not showing the hunger anymore. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br><br>Ferrari P3 and P6 in Japan </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Charles had a good race to finish P3. However Ferrari still doesn’t have the race pace to fight Mercedes. Now even McLaren seems to be coming strong and fighting with them. Hamilton looked good but eventually settled for P6. Ferrari had a good car and is solid at the start but they need to work hard to get more performance if they want to fight Mercedes for the title. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Pierre Gasly had a solid race as he kept Max Verstappen off and finished P7 while Max finished P8. Would would have thought this was possible even a few years back. Liam Lawson finished P9 and Esteban scored the final race point. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Japan GP Top 10: Kimi wins the race </h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Japan-2026-kimi-top-10.jpg?resize=800%2C1000&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-1805" style="aspect-ratio:0.8;width:520px;height:auto" loading="lazy" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Japan-2026-kimi-top-10.jpg?resize=819%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 819w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Japan-2026-kimi-top-10.jpg?resize=240%2C300&amp;ssl=1 240w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Japan-2026-kimi-top-10.jpg?resize=768%2C960&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/formula1.buzz/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Japan-2026-kimi-top-10.jpg?w=1080&amp;ssl=1 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></figure>
