Lewis wins as both Ferrari crash out
After a stunning qualifying yesterday, Lewis showed his chops again with a comfortable win from the start. Meanwhile Bottas made a late pass on Verstappen to make it a 1-2 finish for Mercedes.

Having been classified a disappointing P4 at last weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix, Hamilton was strong away from the start line, before spending the race managing the gap, first to Red Bull’s Verstappen then to Bottas, to secure his 85th Grand Prix win.
Despite a stern defence from Verstappen, Bottas claimed second place from the Dutchman four laps from the end, last week’s Austrian Grand Prix winner limiting the damage in the drivers’ championship, which the Finn still heads.
RedBull just didn’t have the Mercedes pace
Behind Verstappen, an exciting battle for fourth place saw the Red Bull of Alex Albon finish ahead of the McLaren of Lando Norris, Norris passing the Racing Point of Sergio Perez with one corner to go in the race after the Mexican suffered front wing damage from contact with Albon.
Racing Point in great form
Perez starting so far from the back stormed through the grid. He was fighting for the fourth spot with Albon when a contact clipped his front wing. He Barely made it to the sixth spot. Lance Stroll was in good form too but he was behind Daniel Ricciardo for too long, eventually managing to go past him. Lance finished seventh with Ricciardo behind him at eight.
Lando fifth! Both McLarens in points
Lando made headlines in the final lap just like last week. He had an average race throughout but in the last lap overtook Daniel, Lance and Sergio to finish 5th in a stunning display of grit and race craft. After a frustrating day, P3 starter Carlos Sainz was ninth, taking an extra point for fastest lap, while AlphaTauri’s Daniil Kvyat rounded out the top 10.
Unlucky Ocon!
Esteban Ocon drove sensationally yesterday in the wet qualifying session to come P5. He looked positive and ready to grab some points. Unfortunately his Renault developed some heating issues and to retire. This is the second retirement for Renault in two weeks. Last week it was Ricciardo’s car which had issues. Renault would need to iron out such problem if they want to fight strongly. The mid field is packed with Racing Point and McLaren, giving Renault a tough competition.
Ferrari just can’t catch a break
Woes for Ferrari keep on piling. They had a dismal qualifying session but were hoping to do better on race day. Ferrari advanced their aero-package and were looking for some gains. However in the first lap itself Charles Leclerc‘s car smashed into Vettel‘s car, breaking Vettel’s rear wing. Leclerc suffered some damage too. Both the cars had to be retired. Charles took the blame for the collision.
Final F1 classification

Looking forward to the next race in Hungary. We will not have to wait for long as it will be in less than a week.
