Canada GP : Max winner in Montreal
Max Verstappen had another of those smooth victories in Canada. The gap however was much less this time. He was followed by champions Alonso and Hamilton

Max Masterclass in Montreal Canada
When it comes to Max it was the same story again. He starts from pole and maintains his lead throughout the race, doesn’t make any mistakes and wins the race. This time however he was not able to pull off a significant lead and run-off in the distance. Still he was very much in control and got the 100th race win for Red Bull. He is now comfortably ahead in the driver’s championship. His team-mate Sergio Perez starting from 11th could only end up in 6th. Having the fastest car on the grid, much more is expected from him. This is the third time he is playing the catching up game. The gap to Max has increased significantly now and he will have to work hard to close it.
Hamilton and Alonso duel
Alonso started P2 on the grid and Hamilton P3. Hamilton got ahead of Alonso immediately after the start at Canada. Alonso however had better pace and overtook Hamilton and maintained his position right till the end. Age may not be on their side but it doesn’t reflect in the driving abilities. They are still able to beat all the young guns with their experience and awareness. It was great to see the three on the podium in Canada.
On the other hand. George Russell had a race to forget. He was doing well in P4 but clipped the barriers and had to retire his car eventually. Stroll also managed to do a decent job in his home-town to finish in the points at P9.
Decent Ferrari in Canada
Ferrari actually did a decent job given their current situation. Starting P10 and P11, the Ferrari due of LeClerc and Sainz finished P4 and P5. Ferrari gave clear instruction to Sainz to not push hard and compete with each other and burn the tyres. Instead drive smoothly to come home and bring in the points. It was a sensible move given their current situation.
Alex Albon had a mega drive and was able to hold on to his P7 position. They need to wait for a few more races to see whether the upgrades worked or not. Ocon got a decent P8 and Bottas managed to get the last lone point at P10.
