George started from Pole and won the race in Austria. Max came in P2 and Kimi was P3.

George redemption in Austria
George Russell has had a tough few weekends in the past. He is the senior Mercedes driver and is expected to win the Championship, when given the right car. Now that the opportunity has finally come George’s way, after struggling in a beaten Williams and then in less than optimal Mercedes of the past, the lead has been snatched by his much younger team-mate Kimi. Race after race it was Kimi who got the lead, won the races and got the points. Some was down to luck, some just the lack of confidence from George. Still he backed himself up, got good points in Barcelona and won the race from Pole in Austria.
To be sure, he was not in the groove in the practice sessions. Max spun in the final important lap of Quali, which brought the yellow flags. Seeing this Kimi aborted the lap completely where George knowing the rules well just lifted a bit and then kept on going. He got the Pole and then never missed a beat to be the first to chequered flag. Kimi then was playing a catching up, after starting from P4. He struggled in the starting as he pushed too much. Eventually he ended up in P3. He still has a lead of 40 points over George but the season is long and there are still many races left. Kimi cannot take the Championship for granted.
Mighty Max in Austria
Austria is the home ground for Red Bull. All the bosses were there and so were Max’s fan army. After a setback in the quali Max started in P5. His race pace was solid and just executed things very well. Eventually he finished P2. While still far from being a Championship contender, Max has shown what a quality driver he is. Isack had a decent race and he finished P6.
Ferrari fumble in Austria
After the mega race in Barcelona everyone felt that Ferrari is back in the groove and we will see them more in the front, fighting Mercedes. The Quali was not bad with Charles in P2 and Hamilton in P3. However the three-stop strategy just did not work for Ferrari. While Hamilton got some good overtakes done, he eventually finished P5. Meanwhile LeClerc struggled even more, starting in the front row but ended up in P8.
McLaren had an average race with Oscar finishing P4 and Lando P7. Both the Racing Bulls finished in points, Lawson in P9 and Arvid P10.
